Clinical Nutrition Manager | Hebrew SeniorLife | Boston, MA

Hebrew SeniorLife (HSL) is a 100+-year-old organization dedicated to providing seniors with the highest quality of life through an integrated network of health care, research, housing and teaching programs in the Greater Boston area. It is the largest nonprofit provider of senior health care and housing in New England. Our health-care network comprises Hebrew Rehabilitation Center, a long-term, sub-acute, and long-term medical acute care facility in Boston; three senior housing sites-Jack Satter House in Revere, Simon C. Fireman Community in Randolph, and Center Communities of Brookline; and Orchard Cove, a life-care community in Canton. The Institute for Aging Research in Boston, affiliated with Harvard Medical School, is one of the most prestigious aging research facilities in the country. HSL's NewBridge on the Charles, our premier multigenerational continuing care retirement community in Dedham, consists of 256 independent living units, 50 assisted living units, 41 memory support assisted living units, and a 268-bed Health Care Center, which offers long-term and sub-acute care. Hebrew SeniorLife also offers services to the community, including Adult Day Health programs and outpatient clinics in audiology, exercise, memory disorders, osteoporosis screening, and rehabilitation.

Position has the primary responsibility to provide leadership and management for the following work groups: Registered Dietitians, Diet Techs, Diet Aides and some Wait Staff supervision. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other facility departments to provide a unified approach to patient/resident care. Establishes and maintains policies, standards and programs for the provision of optimal, cost-effective nutrition care to patients. This includes coordinating and directing all clinical activities and determining and implementing appropriate staffing levels. Assists in the performance planning process for dietitians and interviews, selects and trains employees within the Clinical Services Department. Responsible for all of the activities associated with the Registered Dietitians, Diet Techs, and Diet Aides (10.6 FTE's). Some Tray Line and Wait Staff supervision. Develops and manages an effective Quality Control Program. Develop, set and implement menu and nutrition standards that are consistent with the Mission of the Center and are in compliance with all Federal, State, City and Kosher regulations. Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form. Completes assignments with minimal assistance and total follow up. Exercise initiative, seeking additional tasks and projects from supervisor. Might assume complete responsibility for the Food Service Department in the absence of the Director and Executive Chef.

Qualifications:
Must be a Licensed Dietitian and an ADA Registered Dietitian Minimum 3 years supervision of a Clinical Department in a hospital or a long-term care facility. Full Kosher experience preferred.
